Benefitting the Stroke Foundation, the exhibition of small-scale artworks will line the walls of the beachside bar and gallery for the next month.
Fremantle gallery and restaurant space Palette opened in November 2022 in an often-overlooked pocket of Leighton Beach. As well as operating as a fully licensed restaurant pouring West Australian wines, Palette hosts exhibitions to showcase emerging artists.
The family-run space is owned by local artist Jade Van Herwaarde along with her partner, Jason Witt, and her mother, Christina Scanlan. The family was rocked in April this year when Van Herwaarde’s grandfather suffered a massive stroke. Titled Moments, Palette’s latest exhibition will run from raise money for the Stroke Foundation.
Van Herwaarde opened submissions up to the public, and 120 small-scale works by 40 local artists were selected. The exhibition opens on Thursday August 10, with festivities kicking off from 5pm.
